Brunswick Baths Mural

Originally painted in 1985, the Brunswick Public Baths mural has been faded by time, and attacked by vandals. It still retains the vigour of an authentic public art work, created by community artists, that captured a moment in the suburb's and Melbourne's multicultural history. (Brunswick City Baths)

Chinese Gardens, International Village, Shepparton

Originally built as a tourist attraction and work creation project in the 1970s, the Village was strongly supported by local business and ethnic leaders. The village began to need renovation, and the local government commissioners decommissioned the site in 1996. The Japanese Folk Museum was destroyed by arson in 1997. Shepparton Council in 2000 proposed to demolish the village and sell the land for housing. A six year fight to save the historic and architecturally valuable site was lost in 2006. In 2009 a small area behind the Council was refashioned as a Chinese lake.
