Arthur Calwell and his wife at the opening of David Wang's Norge Village in Camberwell. Though a strong supporter of the White Australia policy, as Federal Immigration Minister, Arthur Calwell, a friend of Mabel's father, supported David Wang's business entry into Australia in 1948 and they too became friends.
