Chair, Australian Ethnic Affairs Council, 1977-81, and former Adviser to the Minister for Immigration and Ethnic Affairs
It (the Galbally Report) was very effective in getting the Commonwealth Public Service, above all, and also State Public Services to some extent, in reorienting them towards the needs of migrants as a group, as a segment of our society; that the reorientation was quite massive, because (it was) Government sponsored, because (it was) promoted by Fraser at all levels, and I think, by and large, accepted.
